Vrbo - Traveller Payments
In order to be able to distribute your properties on Vrbo's brands and to take consumer payments there are two existing options offered by Vrbo.
For accommodation partners that distribute to Vrbo via a channel manager, there are two options to capture traveller payments, in both options it is the accommodation partner who is taking the payments from the travellers, and thus being classified as Merchant of Record (MoR).
NextPax Payment-In-Session
NextPax has a variety of integrated payment service providers or if your system is PCI compliant we can forward the traveller credit card details. Payments can then be taken via your payment service provider following your schedule of prepayment policies at Vrbo. https://nextpax.com/integrations/payment-processing
Payment Link or Pay by Bank Transfer.
Another option is to select only bank-transfer as payment method in NextPax for Vrbo. Once that is selected, no traveller credit cards will be collected during the reservation. Post reservation the accommodation partner is responsible to send the travellers either a payment link or request to pay by bank transfer.
Coming in 2026 - Vrbo Payments
In 2026 Vrbo will release Vrbo Payments, first available in USD currency and in the 2nd half of next year also for GBP and EUR currency. In this case Vrbo captures the traveller payments and becomes the merchant of record. This option will enable Vrbo to feature alternative payment methods with their travellers and their travellers can then also pay with OneKeyCash of Expedia Group's OneKey Loyalty Program. Once integrated and available in NextPax - more information on Vrbo Payments will be published.
