Vrbo - Contracting Procedure - Net-New Partner

This article describes the process of contracting for a net-new accommodation partner at Vrbo, who has never advertised their accommodations on this platform before.

If you are a net new accommodation partner with VRBO and have never created an account or advertised any accommodations on VRBO it is best to do the contracting via NextPax through the VRBO SSO (Self Service Onboarding) Wizard, for an optimal onboarding experience.

In order to start this process the client needs to go to Channels --> Connect Properties and select Vrbo as the channel. A pop-up appears which is asking the accommodation partner whether or not they already selected NextPax in the Self Service Onboarding (SSO) wizard. Please select Open SSO Wizard.

 

Once you confirm this button a region selector will open up, which we need to double confirm before we can open the SSO wizard. Kindly select your Vrbo region you are signed up to and then click Open SSO Wizard, the next steps are taken in the VRBO SSO Wizard, where you'll select NextPax as the connectivity partner.

Once the Open SSO Wizard is selected a pop-up will appear to ensure you to confirm the Vrbo live site you are contracted on, our advice is to always select the country that you are in, or closest to.

Once this is confirmed you are taken to Onboarding SSO Wizard, where you can start the VRBO contracting and onboarding from NextPax. It will first ask whether you already have a Vrbo account.

As you are new to Vrbo select NO here, after that it will bring you to the following screen, where it asks you whether you use a Property Management System.

Since you are contracting to VRBO, utilising NextPax (in combination with a pms or a different source), select YES here. After that the following screen will appear.

Kindly provide the basic account details in order to get your VRBO dashboard account created and press confirm. Then select the base currency available.

Confirm the base currency and this will take you to the following step of confirming the base site you've entered in NextPax already. This will also be the website where you can login to the Vrbo Dashboard, so save it as a bookmark in your browser.

After confirming the site, you'll be asked to deliver more information on your company.

Once confirmed, VRBO will ask how many properties you wish to distribute, go for the maximum amount of properties you have, you can always decide via NextPax which of the properties you'd wish to actually onboard to VRBO.

Once you confirmed the number of properties, press continue. After that it will ask to provide your contact details, which is the final step before the Vrbo Account is created, in which you perform the other steps for finalising the contracting. Please make sure you provide phone numbers and email adresses that you have access to later on, for the verification process.

Once the contact details are provided, and you press create account, the account on Vrbo gets created and you will login. The first thing what will happen is that you have to verify your phone number.

You will then get a code either via text or via a call on the phone number provided.

Once entered, press verify. Once the phone number is verified the process of connecting NextPax as your channel manager can begin, that will start with this screen.

Press continue and then it will ask you to search for your system, please search here for NextPax and then in the second box provide the VRBO Advertiser ID.

How to find your VRBO Advertiser ID in NextPax?

1. Login to CORE

2. Select the right Property Manager in the top right corner

3. Navigate to Channels --> Channel Settings --> VRBO 

4. You'll find the Advertiser ID prepopulated under Credentials

Once this is confirmed, you'll be asked to provide your address information for tax and billing purposes. Please provide those details and confirm.

Post delivery of these details, you'll be provided with a summary of what was collected so far to reconfirm this, please do so.

Once pressed continue, the following screen appears, which is the screen to deliver to the VAT information. Please note to select the right country, as each country has different VAT details to provide.

Once the VAT information is provided, and you press continue, you'll be served with a VRBO summary of the commercial terms.

Once you carefully read through this message, you'll be served with the VRBO agreement / terms&conditions, also known as the Purchase Order. Please confirm the checkbox, which makes you agree with the Purchase Order and License Agreement. Please also note the download option available, to download this agreement as a PDF. 

Once finalised, press continue. On this screen you'll be asked to deliver your credit card, which will be used for collecting the commission payments. 

Caution, please pay attention to the red bar above this screen.

"Please ensure that the credit card you'll be using for commission payments has been setup with 3DS. In order to do so, you may need to contact your bank. 3DS aadds another layer of security to online payments and helps reduce fraud. Strong Customer Authentication regulations in EUROPE require banks to use 3D Secure two-factor authentication when credit card payments are received" 

Once the credit card details are confirmed and successfully registered with VRBO, the contracting process is finished, and you can now start the onboarding procedure with NextPax.
