This article describes how NextPax Core is handling property descriptions delivered by the accommodation partner, for distribution to the channels.
When an accommodation partner navigates to the descriptions tab under the General Information tab of a property. It will find the menu to set a wide variety of descriptions, in multiple languages for a property.
When opening the descriptions tab, all the imported descriptions for each language and type are already visible. These come from our different import mechanism, either imported from a PMS or reservations system, or they are provided by the Accommodation Partner through the NextPax Supply API or through Nxtbeds.
What description types are all supported in NextPax?
Additional costs, Area, Arrival days, Discounts, Distances, Driving directions, Environment, Fine print, Headline, House, Interior, Minimum stay length, Opening hours, Optional costs, Price table, Remarks, Short introduction, Tips of the owner, Unique benefits, Why this property?, Winter text (Short), Winter text
The most used description types are:
house - this is the generic description of the accommodation.
short introduction - a short sentence to introduce the accommodation
driving directions - short compiled driving directions to an accommodation
headlines - to provide an alternative name for the accommodation, highlighting key amenities or identifiers such as the location, view.
remarks - to provide important notes about the accommodation.
How are distribution channels using the descriptions?
This differs per distribution channel and is therefore documented under the respective distribution partner. Eg. Booking.com will generate their own property descriptions, while Vrbo allows the accommodation partner to use their own descriptions. Other platforms are curating/rewriting the descriptions to be more in favor with their travellers.
