Policies & Rate-Plans - Cancellation & Prepayment Policies

This article describes how to create and select cancellation and prepayment policies for the different channels that are selected for distribution.

Under Cancellation & Prepayment policies the accommodation partners can select or create the cancellation policies and prepayment policies to be used on the distribution channels. Each distribution channel may handle this differently, some are providing just some options the channel have on their side, others provide more choice, and others allow you to build your own custom policies. In this article we will discuss it per channel segment.

The first thing an accommodation partner will notice that there are different sections, one can create a cancellation/prepayment policy for 'NextPax', and then on some specific channels one can again create a cancellation/prepayment policy. This is due to the fact the specific mentioned channels only offer a subset of options, while for all other channels we can export the main cancellation & prepayment policies created under 'NextPax'.

Booking.com, Expedia & Agoda

These channels offer a wide range of options, as long as they work along their framework. The added benefit with these channels is that you can run multiple cancellation policies and prepayment policies on the same time, as they do support a multiple rate-plan and policy management setup on their side.

HomeToGo  & Vrbo
HomeToGo & Vrbo offer a specific set of pre-defined cancellation and prepayment policies, and on top they offer the possibility of creating a custom cancellation policy. An accommodation partner can switch between these policies and in case custom is chosen they can also edit the parameters of the custom cancellation & prepayment policy.

Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy

Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy offers only a fixed set of cancellation policies ranging from flexible to strict where the accommodation partner can choose from. An accommodation partner can switch between these policies at any given time.

Airbnb

Airbnb offers a specific set of policies to choose from, without a custom cancellation policy option. Moreover they offer a specific set of policies that you need to use if you are having properties in Italy, and those policies cannot be used outside of Italy.

NextPax Policies - for all other channel partners

With all other channel partners that are not having fixed cancellation policies or connect to our Distribution API instead we distribute the property manager's policies for their attention. You can create and manage these, according to your own desired setup.
