Holidu Payments
This article is about Holidu Payments and how partners can easily activate and manage this payments program via NextPax.
Holidu Payments allows Holidu to act as the Merchant of Record (MoR). This means:
- Holidu charges the guest directly
- Holidu manages payment processing and payouts
- Property Managers (PMs) no longer handle guest credit card data
This feature changes how bookings, payments, cancellations, and modifications are handled within the platform.
Benefits of using Holidu Payments
1. Activation of alternative payment methods: Holidu is then able to activate alternative-payment methods on your properties, which widens the net of payment solutions available for guests (eg. Sofort, Apple Pay and others).
2. Security of funds - Holidu is responsible to secure traveller funds and you no longer have to chase travellers for invalid and or fraudulent credit cards. Also Holidu takes responsibility of traveller chargebacks.
3. Enabler for B2B Distribution - Holidu can now start to work with their B2B distribution network to accept reservations from their Distribution Partner Network for your properties. This widens the net of possible reservations.
How does Holidu Payments work?
In essence Holidu Payments transfers the responsibility for charging the travellers and managing the payment relationship from the accommodation partner to Holidu. This implies a couple of changes versus normal payment processing via NextPax, through Stripe or your own designated payment service provider.
How to activate Holidu Payments in NextPax?
Important: Holidu Payments is only available for EUR currency markets, if you operate other currencies please consider normal payment processing through our Stripe payment solution.
Holidu Payments can be enabled through a single click in your Holidu Channel Settings. Please navigate to channels -> channel settings and select Holidu. Navigate to the Pricing Settings section and toggle the functionality

What changes within NextPax when activating Holidu Payments?
When Holidu Payments is enabled the following changes will apply within NextPax, specifically in the way how the reservation management and payments is done.
1. Traveller Credit Card data.
You will no longer receive traveller credit card data from us for Holidu Reservations.
2. Cancellations and or Modifications of bookings have to go through Holidu alone.
The options to do that from the NextPax side will be removed. Also you can't cancel or modify a booking in your own system / records - since Holidu is handling payments, for all of these changes, please direct the traveller to the Holidu application to make them there.
Please inform your customer service or reservations handling staff, that when you operate on Holidu Payments, they should not cancel and modify bookings themselves - but always direct the travellers to their Holidu application to cancel and or modify their booking.
3. Collection of Refundable Security Deposits
If you are charging refundable security deposits to travellers make sure the charge setting is, Paid At Location (PAL). Holidu Payments does not support the charging and refund of security deposits.
4. Your Booking Confirmations and use of Payment Links
In case you have been using payment links before - these should be erased from your booking confirmations. The use of payment links for other reasons than to collect a security deposit is prohibited.
