Expedia Group - Consumer Payments

Expedia currently provide three options for properties to consume consumer payments. Each of the options have different consequences and it's up to the property/property manager to decide on their preference.

HotelCollect
With this option you as property manager are in charge of taking the payments from the guest. With this option the Expedia Group will provide the credit card information to NextPax, since we are PCI certified. NextPax can then either forward the credit card details to: 

  1. PCI Certified Property Manager's
  2. Work with the property manager's Payment Service Provider (PSP)

ExpediaCollect
With this option the Expedia Group becomes the merchant of record (MOR). This means they will take the payments from the guest at the time of booking. Expedia Group then provides the property manager an Expedia Virtual Credit Card, for the property manager to charge. NextPax is able as a PCI certified channel manager to forward the Expedia Virtual Credit Card to:

  1. PCI Certified Property Manager's
  2. Work with the property manager's Payment Service Provider (PSP).

Expedia Traveler Preference (ETP)

(offer both HotelCollect, ExpediaCollect at the same time)Property Manager can also choose to take part in both programs at the same time. This means that for part of the bookings the property manager is merchant of record, while for the other part the Expedia Group is
