Expedia - Contracting Process & API Onboarding Capability
This article explains the contracting process for Expedia for accommodation partners that would like to sign an agreement.
On Expedia Group an accommodation partner can get two types of agreement, an accommodation agreement (1 property), or a chain agreement (multiple properties). There are some implications that one should consider.
Chain Agreement (recommended from a connectivity standpoint)
FULL API Onboarding Available: NextPax can auto-build / update everything via API
API onboarding applicable: NextPax can auto-build and update everything via API.
-
1 agreement for all accommodations related to your entity, irrespective of what brands you are utilising, utilising the same commission structure agreed. If a chain agreement needs to be signed, please introduce the client with Jean Sartre of Expedia.
-
Central commission invoicing towards HQ, not anymore to each individual accommodation.
-
Chain agreements are only possible if the accommodation partner has more than 5 accommodations, with 15 sellable rooms/apartments/villas in total at least in each of them (75 rooms/apartments/villas in total).
Property Agreement (per 1 accommodation)
PARTLY API Onboarding Available: Acommodation Partner needs to create hotel-shelf on Expedia, after NextPax is able to update/build the rooms, rates, images, availability, rates, inventory and sync reservations, cancellations & modifications.
-
1 agreement to sign, via ‘List with Expedia’ List Your Property On Expedia | Connect With Global Travelers
-
Connectivity, the hotel shelf has to be built manually on Expedia Partner Central for the accommodation. (NextPax cannot build or update the hotel shelfs for you with this mode).
-
Post creation on Expedia Partner Central, the accommodation Expedia Hotel ID, Room ID & Rate Plan ID then have to be mapped within NextPax to the correct accommodation.
-
NextPax can then update/build the rooms, rates, images, availability, rates, inventory and sync reservations, cancellations & modifications.
Now of-course it can happen that a partner has more properties, but is not yet on an Expedia Chain Agreement. These are the considerations when working with a property agreement for multiple accommodations.
-
The accommodation partner has to sign a contract for each property.
-
NextPax cannot build or update the hotel shelfs for the accommodation partner with this mode as indicated above. All properties have to be built on Expedia Partner Central.
-
All invoicing will go to each individual accommodation, and you will have to manage the reconciliation process on multiple Expedia invoices.
