Channels - Manage Channels

This section will explain all the steps to activate particular channels, manage channel settings, and how to enable or disable accommodations from a channel. This article will focus on the first tab 'Manage Channels'

In 'Manage Channels' an accommodation partner can regulate which channels are activated for the accommodation partner. It is the first step in activating accommodations towards the channels. Pre-requisite for making any changes here, is that the Account Settings are completed.

To navigate, select Channels in the left menu, which brings the accommodation partner to this screen, which is the start for any channel operation that you would like to execute.

In this screen we will showcase all the channels that are supported within the NextPax Channel Partner ecosystem. 

Channel Name: Name of the Channel

Type: Here we showcase whether the channel is connected through our Distribution API (da) or whether we integrate with the API's of a particular channel (eg. we connect Booking.com through the use of their API's, and hence why the type is not da)

ID: The internal ID for the channel.

Status On/Off: Here an accommodation partner, can enable the channel as the first step. Validation is shown next to the toggle and will inform the user of any pre-requisites if not met already. If Green, the channel is enabled, if grey the channel is disabled still.

Export Content On/Off: Here an accommodation partner can indicate whether for a particular channel they would like to export content (images, descriptions, amenities and other items) or not. In case of green, NextPax distributes content, in case of grey (toggle off), NextPax doesn't synchronise content. 

Quick Link to Channel Settings: After enabling the channel we also provide a quick link to the channel settings, that will have to filled out per channel 

How to enable a channel? 

Enabling a channel works different for various NextPax accommodation partners:

  • Accommodation Partners connected through the NextPax Supply API

Please use the API instead to enable channels, the information will be synced into NextPax Core. For more information, go the particular documentation supported for this operation, shown: here

  • Accommodation Partners using Nxtbeds - https://nxtbeds.app/

Please enable the channels from that tool, the information will be synced into NextPax Core.

If the users above still try enable a channel from here, we will showcase an error message.

  • All other Accommodation Partners

Use this tab, to enable channels, in case a channel is not enabled yet, it will showcase like below, which indicates that the channel is available and ready to activate:

As can be seen here, the required pre-requisites are met for an accommodation partner to enable the channel, one can view the prerequisites by clicking 'view'

From there just press the the first toggle on green on green, a box will appear

When an accommodation partner answers, YES to export the content, also the 2nd toggle in the overview will become green, if NO is answered only the first toggle for enabling the channel will become green.
