Airbnb retires the Super Strict cancellation policies

What is changing?

Airbnb is retiring the Super Strict cancellation policies (Super Strict 30 and Super Strict 60) across its platform. This change was announced by Airbnb on June 18, 2026 and rolls out in two steps:

• New listings — effective immediately. Airbnb no longer accepts a Super Strict cancellation policy on any new listing. If a new listing is configured with a Super Strict policy, Airbnb rejects it with the message: "You are not yet eligible to apply a Super Strict cancellation policy. To apply a Super Strict policy, please complete business verification." Please note: completing business verification does not restore eligibility — Airbnb treats these listings as new listings, and Super Strict can no longer be applied.
• Existing listings — as of September 16, 2026. Listings that currently use a Super Strict policy keep it until this date. From September 16, 2026 the Super Strict policies are removed for existing listings as well.

What does this mean for you as an accommodation partner?

If any of your Airbnb listings currently use a Super Strict cancellation policy, select a replacement policy from Airbnb's available set (for example Flexible, Moderate, Firm or Strict) before September 16, 2026. This prevents interruptions to your Airbnb distribution when Airbnb removes the Super Strict policies. For new listings, choose one of the supported policies from the start — Super Strict is no longer offered as an option in the NextPax platform for new Airbnb listings.

You can review and change your Airbnb cancellation policy in NextPax Core under Policies & Rate-Plans → Cancellation & Prepayment Policies. Changes are synchronized to Airbnb automatically.
